One of Mrs. Yip's junior high students entered her Chinese shi poem (based on a form she learned in class) at the Fillmore Festival, where it took first place! Lauren Fairall has given her permission for us to reprint it here. Congratulations, Lauren!
Chinese Shi
Haven't you heard?
It's the newest celebration!
Roses, Daffodils, Daisies, and Babysbreath too,
Are opening their blossoms all a new.
The most extraordinary colors can be seen.
All the flowers are doing their best to look keen.
